A globally recognised engineering organisation is looking to strengthen its procurement function through the appointment of a Senior Buyer to support a portfolio of marketing and digital services spend. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an ambitious procurement professional looking to step into a broader and more strategic position, gaining exposure to high profile projects, senior stakeholder engagement and ownership of key spend areas across a complex international business. The successful individual will join a collaborative procurement team where there is genuine opportunity to build experience, develop category ownership and progress longer term.
Responsibilities:
- Support and lead strategic sourcing activity across marketing, digital and agency related spend categories
- Develop sourcing approaches and category plans that deliver commercial value and support wider business objectives
- Build relationships with stakeholders across marketing and wider business functions
- Lead procurement activity from initial engagement through to negotiation, supplier selection and contract implementation
- Support supplier relationship management activity and identify opportunities for performance improvement and added value
- Manage multiple sourcing projects across a fast moving and varied environment
What my client is seeking:
- Around 3 to 5+ years procurement experience within Buyer, Senior Buyer or Assistant Category Manager positions
- Exposure to indirect procurement categories such as marketing, professional services, FM, HR or wider corporate spend areas would be advantageous
- Strong understanding of strategic sourcing and end to end procurement principles
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Someone looking to continue developing their procurement career within a larger and more mature environment
- Degree educated and CIPS qualified or studying towards qualification would be beneficial
