Are you an ambitious Senior Buyer looking for the opportunity to take on greater responsibility and make the step towards Procurement Manager?
A growing, high-tech manufacturing organisation is looking for a Senior Buyer to join its procurement team, taking ownership of a broad range of direct materials, components and manufacturing-related spend.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone currently working within automotive, aerospace, electronics, FMCG, food manufacturing, medical devices, pharmaceutical, chemical or wider engineering/manufacturing environments who wants more autonomy, visibility and progression.
The opportunity:
- Take ownership of strategic sourcing and supplier management across a broad portfolio of direct procurement spend
- Manage and develop relationships with UK and international manufacturing suppliers
- Lead negotiations around cost, quality, lead times, capacity and commercial terms
- Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Production and other technical stakeholders
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, value engineering and supply-chain improvement
- Play an important role in developing procurement processes and supplier performance
- Gain the exposure and responsibility to progress towards Procurement Manager-level positions
What they're looking for:
- Strong procurement experience gained within a manufacturing, engineering or product-led environment
- Experience purchasing direct materials, components, finished goods or other manufacturing-related categories
- Strong commercial negotiation and supplier-management skills
- Comfortable working with technical and operational stakeholders
- An ambitious, proactive individual looking to broaden their responsibilities and progress their procurement career
