An established international energy trading technology business is looking to appoint a hands-on Sales Director to help drive its next phase of commercial growth.

The company provides specialist ETRM and enterprise data management software to organisations operating across global energy and commodity markets.

This is a player-manager opportunity for an experienced enterprise software sales professional who combines a demonstrable track record of winning new business with the ability to mentor salespeople and implement structured, repeatable sales processes.

Working directly alongside senior commercial leadership, you will play a central role in developing a high-performance new business sales function, personally winning new clients while helping establish the processes, metrics and methodologies required to scale.

The business is particularly interested in candidates who have progressed from successful individual contributor roles into sales leadership, or exceptional enterprise software sellers who are ready to take the next step in their careers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate and close new business through proactive outbound prospecting and new-logo acquisition.
  • Own the full enterprise sales cycle, from prospecting through to contract close.
  • Work with senior leadership to implement a structured, metrics-driven sales strategy.
  • Mentor junior salespeople while maintaining personal revenue targets.
  • Drive sales processes, pipeline management and forecasting using Salesforce and methodologies such as MEDDPICC.
  • Candidate Requirements
  • Experience selling ETRM, CTRM, enterprise data management or related energy trading software.
  • Proven individual sales track record, including quota attainment, new-logo wins and revenue generated.
  • Demonstrable ability to generate and close self-sourced opportunities.
  • Previous sales management or mentoring experience, or clear potential to step into a player-manager role.
  • Experience with Salesforce and structured sales methodologies, ideally MEDDPICC.
  • A hands-on approach to new business development, sales execution and team leadership.

The Opportunity

Work directly alongside senior commercial leadership to transform the sales function, build a high-velocity new business operation and develop junior sales talent, while continuing to personally originate and close deals.

The business is open to both established player-managers and exceptional individual contributors who can demonstrate the sales track record and leadership potential required to step into a broader role.

Package

  • Hybrid working in London.
  • Opportunity to develop into a broader commercial leadership position.

Candidates based in the United States may also be considered.
