An established UK utilities infrastructure provider is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to support major projects across power, gas, water, and communications. This is a senior procurement role offering the opportunity to work on complex, high-value infrastructure programmes within a growing and forward-thinking organisation, with flexibility through a hybrid working model and an upcoming move to a London office.
The Role: You will take ownership of strategic procurement activities, supplier relationships, and commercial performance, ensuring best practice and value delivery across multiple projects.
- Managing complex procurement packages and strategic purchasing activity
- Developing and implementing procurement strategies and annual agreements
- Negotiating with suppliers and managing commercial relationships
- Monitoring and improving supplier performance
- Resolving contractual and commercial issues
- Working closely with project teams and senior management
- Supporting and mentoring junior procurement team members
- Ensuring compliance with internal governance and industry regulations
About You:
- Proven experience in a Senior Buyer or equivalent procurement role
- Background in utilities, infrastructure, civil engineering, or construction
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills
- Experience managing complex supply chains and multiple stakeholders
- Comfortable working in regulated environments
