A leading aviation organisation is seeking a strategic Procurement Manager to lead category management across Engineering & Maintenance. This is a high-impact role focused on shaping long-term sourcing strategies, optimising supplier performance, and delivering sustainable value across a complex global supply base. This is not a transactional role—it’s a strategic position requiring a strong category management mindset and deep expertise within the aerospace / aviation sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver category strategies across MRO, powerplant, airframe, spares, and technical services
  • Lead long-term strategic sourcing initiatives across a global supplier base, including MROs, OEMs, and component providers
  • Conduct in-depth spend analysis, market intelligence, and supplier benchmarking to inform category direction
  • Drive strategic supplier relationship management (SRM), focusing on performance, innovation, and risk mitigation
  • Lead complex commercial and contractual negotiations, ensuring long-term value creation
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Technical Services, and Maintenance Planning to align procurement strategy with operational needs
  • Identify and deliver cost optimisation, value creation, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure robust governance, compliance, and risk management across all supplier contracts
  • Support the development of procurement best practice and mentor junior team members where required

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in strategic category management (not transactional procurement)
  • Strong background within aerospace / aviation, ideally within an airline, MRO, or aircraft leasing environment
  • Deep understanding of Engineering & Maintenance categories, including MRO, spares, and technical services
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute long-term sourcing strategies
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience leading complex negotiations and supplier strategies
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior technical and operational stakeholders
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent); CIPS qualification desirable
