A major public sector defence programme is looking for an experienced Interim Procurement Manager to lead category strategy across vehicle, engine and generator MRO. This is a strategic role within a complex, multi-billion pound programme environment. You will be responsible for defining and delivering category strategy across maintenance and repair contracts. The expectation is to set direction, drive commercial activity, and keep momentum going across a fast-paced, project-led environment.
Responsibilities
- Define and deliver category strategy across vehicle, engine and generator MRO
- Manage and support maintenance and repair contracts in a complex public sector setting
- Lead tenders and auctions from a strategic perspective
- Engage with engineering and workshop stakeholders across the programme
- Work within an agile project environment and remove blockers to progress
Key Requirements
- Proven MRO procurement experience, vehicles, fleet or engines strongly preferred
- Demonstrable category strategy capability, not purely transactional procurement
- Background in defence, engineering or large public sector environments
- Comfortable working in operational settings including workshops
- Strong stakeholder management and ability to drive progress
