Global leading, cloud-native, SaaS based energy trading (ETRM) software business seeks an experienced Sales Manager with a strong quant dev or broader ETRM product background, to join and lead all European sales of their Energy Trading Quant Dev/Risk software solutions across the European and even EMEA region.
You will be the sole new business sales manager in Europe so will inherit all existing leads and sales and be responsible for managing the end-to-end sales life cycle, whilst growing a team around you.
The company: You’ll join a cutting edge energy trading software business, who specialise in providing energy trading quant dev / risk software across the oil / gas / power trading and increasingly also in the renewables market where there is a lot of custom risk that needs to be modelled. My client do have a wider full end-to-end ETRM solution competing with Endur, Allegro, RightAngle and other large global ETRM systems, but their niche and where they see 90% of their sales over the next 2 years is where they are market leading in energy trading quant dev / risk software sales. Their solution provides an integrated development and operating platform that enables quants and software engineers to collaboratively develop and continuously deploy business solutions.
You will be joining a very established and cash rich global fintech and commodity trading technology business, already with a very strong and impressive global client list in their niche of CTRM, but looking to continue to expand and broaden out more into the core E/CTRM full life-cycle market from existing clients mainly but also new ones. You will join an ambitious cloud-native software business with the best technology in the market and going through rapid growth.
Salary: £160-225k basic + 100% uncapped commission + LTIs benefits
This role is looking for a niche individual with a rare mix of being charismatic sales hunter, someone who can grow a European and even global sales team under them, but also someone with deep energy trading product knowledge so could almost demo their energy trading quant dev / risk software if needed. As such they are prepared to pay a high base and high OTE to attract and reward the successful superstar sales manager.
The role: This is a new business sales hunter role, looking for an experienced Sales Manager with a proven track record selling energy trading software or quant development / risk software into European clients.
Key requirements sought:
- 10 years+ enterprise software sales experience, managing the full life-cycle and closing your own deals
- Strong energy trading product background, possibly coming from a PreSales / Solutions sales background before moving into your current sales hunter/manager role.
- You will have a PreSales Consultant working with you on client demos but it’s important that you understand the concepts – what is a yield curve, what is seasonality in the power market, what is the concept of shaping, what is the logic of pricing gas storage etc.
- Significant experience gained working in ETRM / CTRM, Quant Dev / Risk software or related energy/commodity trading software sales, with a proven track record of hitting and exceeding your sales targets/quotas
- Preferably you will have a network already in the energy trading world that you can leverage from
- Must be based in London or commutable to London 2 days per week and willing to visit prospect offices across Europe as required
- Must hold a UK passport, or a visa allowing you to live and work in the UK without any visa sponsorship needed
