The Opportunity
Are you an ambitious procurement or supply chain professional looking to move beyond day-to-day sourcing into a broader strategic supply chain management role?
My client, a leading FTSE 100 organisation, is investing heavily in transforming the way it manages its supply chain.
As part of this journey, they are continuing to build their Supply Chain Management function and are looking to appoint Supply Chain Managers across Scotland.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with around 2–5 years' experience who is ready to take greater ownership, manage supplier relationships independently and become the supply chain lead for their region.
Unlike traditional procurement positions, this role focuses on strategic supplier management, stakeholder engagement and driving supply chain performance rather than running sourcing events or transactional procurement activities on a daily basis.
About the Role
Joining a growing Supply Chain Management team, you'll take ownership of your own geographical region, acting as the key supply chain contact for both internal stakeholders and suppliers.
You'll be trusted to manage your region independently, building strong supplier partnerships, driving performance improvements and identifying opportunities to add value across the business.
This is a role for someone who enjoys autonomy, takes ownership and is comfortable making decisions.
Working closely with Procurement, Operations and Commercial teams, you'll play an important role in supporting the organisation's wider supply chain transformation programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of supply chain management across your allocated region.
- Develop strong strategic relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Lead Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) activities independently.
- Monitor supplier performance, compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct supplier reviews, business meetings and site visits.
- Drive supplier engagement and encourage best practice across the supply chain.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, resilience and commercial performance.
- Support wider supply chain improvement and transformation initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with Procurement, Operations and Commercial teams to deliver business objectives.
About You
This opportunity would suit someone currently working as a Senior Buyer, Procurement Specialist, Supply Chain Specialist or similar who is looking to move into a broader strategic supply chain role.
You'll be comfortable managing supplier relationships, engaging with stakeholders at all levels and working independently without needing constant direction.
You'll enjoy taking ownership, solving problems and driving improvements across your region while building long-term supplier partnerships.
- The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Around 2–5 years' experience within Procurement or Supply Chain.
- Experience managing supplier relationships independently.
- Exposure to Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), supplier engagement or supplier performance management.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- The confidence to work autonomously and manage your own region.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to identify and implement improvements.
- Good commercial awareness and an understanding of supply chain best practice.
- Experience within construction, engineering, infrastructure, manufacturing, utilities or another operational environment would be advantageous, although candidates from other sectors will also be considered.
- What's on Offer
- Salary of
- £50,000–£60,000
- Car allowance
- Annual bonus
- Hybrid working (2 days per week from either the Glasgow or Aberdeen office)
- Genuine career progression within a leading FTSE 100 organisation
- The opportunity to join a growing team during an exciting period of transformation
- High levels of autonomy and ownership from day one
- Ongoing development within a modern, forward-thinking supply chain function
If you're looking to step away from transactional procurement and into a strategic supply chain role where you'll have genuine ownership, influence supplier performance and play a key role in an evolving FTSE 100 organisation, I'd love to hear from you.
