A growing, high-tech manufacturing organisation is looking for a Senior Buyer to join its procurement team, taking ownership of a broad range of direct materials, components and manufacturing-related spend.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone currently working within automotive, aerospace, electronics, FMCG, food manufacturing, medical devices, pharmaceutical, chemical or wider engineering/manufacturing environments who wants more autonomy, visibility and progression.

The opportunity:

  • Take ownership of strategic sourcing and supplier management across a broad portfolio of direct procurement spend
  • Manage and develop relationships with UK and international manufacturing suppliers
  • Lead negotiations around cost, quality, lead times, capacity and commercial terms
  • Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Production and other technical stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, value engineering and supply-chain improvement
  • Play an important role in developing procurement processes and supplier performance
  • Gain the exposure and responsibility to progress towards Procurement Manager-level positions
