We’re partnering with a global manufacturing organisation to appoint a Greenfield Indirect Procurement Leader, a newly created, high-impact position that will shape how indirect procurement is managed across their global operations for the very first time. This confidential opportunity is ideal for a procurement professional with a strong global mindset, a collaborative approach, and the ability to lead strategically in a decentralised and complex environment.

The Opportunity

With a manufacturing footprint spanning global sites across the UK, US, China, France, Italy, Brazil, and India, this business is an industry leader. Historically, indirect procurement has been managed locally. This new role has been created to establish and lead a global strategy for key indirect categories — bringing consistency, visibility, and value across the group. The successful candidate will have the autonomy to build from scratch, working closely with local and group procurement teams, functional leaders, and suppliers to align global sourcing strategies across areas such as Professional Services, IT, MRO, Facilities, Capital Equipment, Logistics, and others.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement global sourcing strategies across indirect categories
  • Lead supplier selection and negotiation processes, ensuring best value and compliance
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, operations, finance, and executive stakeholders
  • Identify and deliver cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or service
  • Establish robust supplier performance and risk management frameworks
  • Drive data-led insights to improve procurement visibility and decision-making
  • Act as a cultural bridge across international teams, bringing people with you rather than pushing through change

Candidate Profile

We’re looking for someone with:

  • 5–10+ years' experience in indirect procurement or commodity/category management on a global scale
  • Proven experience working across diverse geographies and cultures
  • A blend of strategic thinking and hands-on delivery in complex, matrixed organisations
  • Outstanding stakeholder management, influencing, and negotiation skills
  • High emotional intelligence and the ability to lead through collaboration, not command
  • Familiarity with tools such as JD Edwards, Microsoft D365, Power BI, and Excel

Preferred Experience

  • Manufacturing or industrial sector background ideal but not a pre-requisite
  • Professional qualifications (e.g., MCIPS, MBA)
  • Knowledge of sustainable sourcing, risk management, and global trade compliance

Cultural Fit

This is not a corporate culture, it’s a values-led environment where safety, collaboration, customer focus, and integrity guide decision-making. The successful candidate will be someone who thrives in a setting where authenticity, adaptability, and cultural sensitivity are critical to long-term success.

Why Apply?

  • Newly created global leadership role, shape the strategy from day one
  • Greenfield scope across indirect procurement a chance to make it your own
  • Work across a globally recognised business with a strong reputation and values-led leadership
  • High visibility and long-term impact across multiple manufacturing sites and business units
