ETRM Product Specialist/SME – growing into European Professional Services Manager

Multi commodity trading & risk management (E/CTRM) software firm seeks a dynamic European Power & Gas ETRM Expert to act as their Specialist/SME on all new and existing client engagements, whilst growing the Professional Services Team in Europe (so growing into the Professional Services Manager).

You will come from an E/CTRM implementation background, whether working for another E/CTRM software house, an ETRM services consultancy or coming from an energy trading house. This is a senior role though as you will act as the ETRM SME / Expert speaking with prospective and existing clients and hopefully will grow into their European Professional Services Manager, growing a team around you.

My client is a very well established North American, very modern, innovative, Cloud/SaaS based ETRM software platform/firm who provide an easy to use experience for their clients and users. Offering a fixed fee service to their clients, allowing quick and easy to implement software that is live within 4 months from signature of the deal. Particularly strong in Power and Gas, but also with Oil, LNG, Metals, Ags and Soft Commodity Trading software and clients.

3 years ago they expanded into the European E/CTRM market with their first European client (Power & Gas) and since then, they have gone from strength to strength with multiple sales across Power & Gas in the UK and across Continental Europe. Joining their European team, but also supported by their US team, you’ll join an innovative and rapidly growing business, who are looking for a Power & Gas ETRM Expert who will be very client facing, involved with doing some of the PreSales demos, account managing existing clients, including in the start of implementations and ‘go live’ stages.

This will also involve some hands-on ETRM implementation as you’ll be the sole ETRM product expert in Europe. Most implementations are done virtually, so not a lot of need to be on client site for the specific implementation and configuration work, which will also be done through their Global Professional Services Team in the US, until you have grown your European PS team. It is important though that you are happy and able to do some ETRM implementation work and assisting with some support of these implementations.

You’ll join an existing Sales Director, who is London based, so ideally you will also be London based or commutable to London, but you could also be based in another European city working remotely but with some travel (1 day per week on average) to meet clients etc.

Key skills sought:

  1. 8 years+ proven ETRM software experience working for a rival E/CTRM software house, a services consultancy or even a commodity trading house, coming from a functional business analysis or software implementation background, with some Lead BA or management experience
  2. Deep knowledge of Power and Gas ETRM including implementation/upgrade experience and some configuration experience
  3. Previous PreSales / Solution Sales experience in either a formal PreSales Consultant role or in an adhoc / help out role would be beneficial
  4. Knowledge of SQL would be useful
  5. UK or EU passport allowing you to live and work in your home European country without any sponsoring needed by my client and ability to travel across Europe to meet clients
  6. Typically bright degree educated
  7. Business fluency in English (written and spoken) with language fluency in other European languages (German, French, Dutch, Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, Spanish, Italian etc) being very useful
