An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a global powerhouse in the Facilities Management sector. As part of a wider transformation and investment in best‑practice procurement, this FTSE 100 firm is seeking an experienced FM Category Manager to lead a high‑value, untapped FM category portfolio.
In this strategic role, you’ll act as the subject‑matter expert across multiple FM sub‑categories, driving sourcing strategy, supplier performance, and value delivery across a complex and critical area of spend.
Role Overview
As the Category Manager – FM, you’ll oversee a range of high‑impact procurement categories, including Hard FM (Engineering & Building Services, Fit‑Out, Construction, etc.) and Soft FM.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans across FM services in alignment with business objectives and financial targets.
- Lead regional procurement efforts, ensuring consistency with UK & Ireland sourcing strategies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gain visibility into FM CapEx project pipelines and align procurement activity accordingly.
- Deliver ambitious annual savings targets while maintaining supplier quality and compliance.
- Manage subcontractor relationships and oversee performance across Hard and Soft FM categories.
Required Experience
- Strong procurement background with specific expertise in FM sub‑categories (e.g. lifts, fire & security, water treatment, electrical wholesalers).
- Proven experience managing subcontractors across both Hard and Soft FM services.
- Comfortable working in a matrixed, multicultural organisation.
- Track record of developing and implementing national category strategies.
- Excellent commercial acumen and experience in managing complex contract negotiations.
