Global Category Manager – Iconic Fortune 500 Pharmaceutical Company – London (1 day per week) – £65,000-£85,000 + Bonus + Strong Package
An iconic Fortune 500 Pharmaceutical firm is seeking a rapidly progressing procurement and category management specialist for their green-field Global Sourcing Hub. As Global Procurement Lead you will manage a greenfield growing spend area (currently £20m per annum) across the Clinical Healthcare space and be an influential player in driving innovation across this cutting edge category.
This position will require a working in partnership with Clinical Research Organisations (CRO) and suppliers, R&D, Program Management and functional leadership teams to create, develop and deliver the category strategy for R&D globally.
As Global Category Manager you will:-
- As an integral member of the Sourcing and R&D teams you will be responsible for developing and maintaining a lean and strategic approach to their CRO suppliers for the R&D.
- Responsible for maintaining internal collaboration between R&D, Product Management, Supply Chain & Direct material Sourcing (commercial launch planning), Quality and regulatory organisations within the business.
- Execute agreed strategic sourcing strategy within the category and sub-categories to develop appropriate contracting frameworks to commercially capture the outputs, and manage all ongoing performance against live agreements.
- Support and manage the identification and selection process of clinical suppliers such as CROs, central labs, IVRS, Imaging, ePRO, etc., and support suppliers for R&D efforts such as regulatory, quality, etc..
- Engage with an executive and board-level stakeholder community, to ensure their close involvement and continued investment in this crucial procurement function
- Be enrolled onto the Future Procurement Directorship scheme, which will ensure your progression within the team
Required experience, traits & qualifications:-
- Experience in category management (5+ years) and sourcing along with defining and delivering effective category strategies which achieved significant cost transformations.
- Experience working within a preclinical or CRO environment.
- Experience in pharmaceutical research operations, compliance, clinical study execution and supplier management.
- Strong collaborative approach with the ability to thrive within a fast-paced and challenging work environment
- Degree / MBA (preferred)
