A leading organisation is seeking an Interim Head of Procurement Excellence to support a critical phase of procurement transformation across a complex, multi-site environment. This role will focus on stabilising and enhancing procurement operations, embedding consistent governance, and driving measurable improvements across indirect spend. You will be brought in to assess the current landscape, implement best practice processes, and elevate overall procurement performance within a defined timeframe.
Operating at a senior level, you will work closely with procurement leadership and key business stakeholders to deliver tangible impact across process, systems, and supplier management.
Key responsibilities:- Lead procurement operations across indirect spend, ensuring effective and compliant processes are in place
- Assess current procurement practices and implement improvements across sourcing, contract management, and P2P
- Define and embed governance frameworks, policies, and controls
- Drive standardisation of ways of working across category teams
- Optimise procurement systems, data, and reporting to improve visibility and decision making
- Establish and track KPIs across savings, compliance, and supplier performance
- Strengthen supplier governance and performance management frameworks
- Support ongoing procurement transformation and process improvement initiatives
- Provide leadership and direction to the procurement operations team
- Proven experience operating as an interim procurement leader within complex organisations
- Strong background in procurement operations, excellence, or transformation
- Broad indirect procurement experience across areas such as IT, professional services, HR, and FM
- Deep understanding of procurement processes, governance, and operating models
- Track record of delivering rapid, tangible improvements in short timeframes
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at senior level
- Experience working within fast paced or changing environments
- Familiarity with procurement systems such as SAP, Ariba, Coupa, or similar
