The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

Job Purpose

To work closely with the practice group to support and enable young people who are currently in care and those who have left care and are eligible for leaving care services to make a successful transition to adulthood through practical and planned interventions.

Responsibilities:

  • Work in partnership with the young person, carers, and other professionals to assess the young person's needs and undertake actions to address need.
  • Manage the caseload as directed and organise and plan work activities prioritising tasks and responsibilities.
  • Provide written and verbal reports, which are concise, informative and based on analysis of complex evidence.
  • Work with key professionals from the department and externally to offer advice and implement pathway plans.
  • Maintain working knowledge of issues that impact on young people in care/leaving care including benefits, housing and training and employment opportunities.

Candidate Requirements

  • Candidates must have an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the update service.
  • Previous experience in working with children leaving care is ideal.
  • Experience in working directly with vulnerable children is essential.
  • Ability to recognise, and respond appropriately to issues of risk and safeguarding.
  • Experience in group work with young people and delivery of intervention programmes.

Please note this is a contracted position of 3-6 months with the possibility of extension depending on budgets and performance.

Please note as an agency we can only offer an Umbrella PAYE rate for this post and confirmation of eligibility to work in the UK will be required before submission.
