Role Overview

Take the operational lead in the delivery of youth activities for children and young people within the borough to support the delivery of the Activities for Children and Young People Strategy. This is a contracted position of 3-6 months with the possibility of extension depending on budgets and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, maintain and deploy a diverse range of resources to support the delivery of activities.
  • Support events and activities which deliver objectives and targets of the service.

Duties

  • Work directly with young people to support their personal development by providing appropriate programmes of activities, services and facilities.
  • Support the promotion of a programme of positive activities across the borough.
  • Deliver group work programmes and activities.
  • Ensure the effective completion of administrative duties, health and safety, and facilities management as appropriate.
  • Work as part of a team developing and delivering activities for young people across the borough to meet annual service targets.
  • Actively participate in the annual programme planning to ensure a varied and interesting range of activities for young people.
  • Work in partnership with other agencies such as schools, voluntary sector partners and council departments.

Candidate Requirements

  • Candidates must have an Enhanced DBS registered on the update service.
  • Experience of developing and delivering a front‑line service for children and/or young people.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills, including the capacity to manage competing demands and meet deadlines.

Employment Details

This is a contracted position of 3-6 months with the possibility of extension depending on budgets and performance. The agency can only offer an Umbrella PAYE rate for this post; confirmation of eligibility to work in the UK will be required before submission.
