The Buyer will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient procurement of PC components, peripherals, and accessories across a fast-moving e-commerce environment. This role suits someone who is organised, commercially aware, and excited by the world of PC hardware. You’ll work closely with distributors, major vendors, and internal teams to maintain healthy stock levels, support product launches, and keep our catalogue accurate and competitive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage run rate purchasing for PC components and accessories across multiple distributors
- Place Purchase Orders following the Quote to Order process
- Monitor & maintain stock levels, supplier availability, and lead times via distributor feeds, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Work with Goods in to track inbound deliveries, investigate discrepancies, and resolve supplier issues quickly
- Maintain accurate pricing, cost updates, and product data across internal systems
- Build strong working relationships with distributor contacts and major hardware vendors
- Work directly with leading manufacturers such as MSI, Asus, Gigabyte, and others to support launches, secure allocation, and understand upcoming availability
- Support negotiation of pricing, commercial terms, and promotional opportunities
- Work with Marketing to support the promotional pricing and ensure timely updates across product listings
- Work with Customer service and technical teams to resolve sourcing issues
- Use Linnworks to manage purchasing workflows, stock updates, and order processing (experience beneficial but not essential)
- Support product and pricing updates within Magento (experience beneficial)
- Use Excel for data handling, reporting, and reconciliation tasks (lookups, filters, simple formulas)
Skills & Experience:
- Experience in a purchasing, procurement, or buying role (junior level or above)
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
- Confident communicator with suppliers and internal teams
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-moving environment
- Basic Excel skills, including lookups, filters, and simple formulas
Beneficial:
- Knowledge of PC hardware, including components, brands, and product categories
- Experience with Linnworks, Magento, or similar e-commerce/ERP platforms
- Background in technology, electronics, or e-commerce businesses
- Exposure to vendor side relationships or manufacturer account management
