The predicted salary is between 16 - 16 £ per hour.

The role will require someone who has experience across purchase ledger, sales ledger and nominal ledger. This local business is seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to support them on a 3 month temporary contract.

As the Accounts Assistant you will:

  • Match, input and post purchase invoices into the invoice register and purchase ledger accurately.
  • Review the Finance worktray and bulk post invoices that have been approved.
  • Review worktray report for any discrepancies and resolve.
  • Review supplier statements investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Generate a weekly payment run; liaising with relevant signatories to arrange availability for authorisation / sign off.
  • Ensure a remittance advice is issued to all suppliers with every payment that is made.
  • Raise sales invoices, review debtors report weekly to ensure payments are received promptly and any issues are resolved.
  • Issue statements to debtors.
  • Allocate income to invoices.
  • Perform nominal ledger tasks.
  • Conduct bank reconciliation.
  • Post to the general ledger.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience of maintaining a finance function including sales ledger, purchase ledger and cashbook.
  • Previous experience within housing and knowledge of service charges would be an advantage.
  • Previous experience dealing with multiple cost centres would be ideal.
  • Experience of working with computerised finance packages.
  • Experience of communicating professionally and competently to resolve queries.
  • Experience of working to deadlines.
  • Strong numerical, logical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly at all levels.
  • High degree of accuracy in work undertaken and strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of windows-based software including Word, Excel, MS Office.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise multiple work requests with little supervision using own initiative.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills with an ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication & presentational skills - oral, IT and written to serve differing audiences.

Hours: Monday - Thursday - 9:00 am - 5:00 pm - Friday 9:00 am - 4:30 pm

Salary: £16.11 per hour
