This local business who are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to support them on a 3 month temporary contract. The role will require someone who has experience across purchase ledger, sales ledger and nominal ledger.

Job Description

  • As the Accounts Assistant you will match, input and post purchase invoices into the invoice register and purchase ledger accurately
  • Review the Finance worktray and bulk post invoices that have been approved
  • Review worktray report for any discrepancies and resolve
  • Review supplier statements investigating and resolving any discrepancies
  • As the Accounts Assistant you will generate a weekly payment run; liaising with relevant signatories to arrange availability for authorisation / sign off
  • Ensure a remittance advice is issued to all suppliers with every payment that is made
  • As the Accounts Assistant you will raise sales invoices, review debtors report weekly to ensure payments are received promptly and any issues a resolved
  • Issue statements to debtors
  • Allocate income to invoices
  • Nominal Ledger
  • Bank reconciliation
  • General ledger posting

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience of maintaining a finance function including sales ledger, purchase ledger and cashbook
  • Previous experience within housing and knowledge of services charges would be an advantage
  • Previous experience dealing with multiple cost centres would be ideal
  • Experience of working with computerised finance packages
  • Experience of communicating professionally and competently to resolve queries
  • Experience of working to deadlines
  • Strong numerical, logical and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly at all levels
  • High degree of accuracy in work undertaken and strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of windows-based software including word, excel, MS Office
  • Ability to manage and prioritise multiple work requests with little supervision using own initiative
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with an ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication & presentational skills- oral, IT and written to serve differing audiences.

Hours

Monday – Thursday – 9:00 am – 5:00 pm – Friday 9:00 am – 4:30 pm

Salary

Β£16.11 per hour
