A long-established, forward-thinking family business providing quality-assured Road Transport and Palletised Distribution services throughout the UK, is offering an opportunity for a reliable, detail-driven administrator to support a busy Transport operation in delivering excellent customer service to valued clients.
This position will involve a variety of duties, which will include:
- Supporting our busy Transport Office by answering telephone calls and emails from customers and following up their queries in a professional manner
- Account Management for several key customers
- Assisting with the sourcing of backloads for our fleet of national delivery vehicles
- Using our Qargo IT System to capture consignment details for backloads and for deliveries for a small number of customers who choose to send their delivery specifications via email, rather than via our web portal
- Driver liaison, in relation to their allocated deliveries/collections
- Preparing daily delivery performance reports for several clients
- Following up queries to ensure timely payment of customer invoices
Company-specific training will be provided to the successful candidate, who will ideally have the following skills/experience:
- IT Literacy: IT skills and experience are essential, together with the ability to become skilled in the operation of our Qargo Traffic Management System, and the Palletforce IT System, which are integral to our Business
- Organisational Ability and Attention to Detail: In a busy and fast-moving environment, these skills are essential in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of information, and the provision of the highest standards of service to our valued customers
- Communication Skills: The ability to communicate effectively, on the telephone, in writing and in person, in a professional manner is a pre-requisite to this role
- Teamwork: Your ability to work as part of a team is fundamental
- UK Geographical Knowledge: would be an advantage for this role, but is not essential, as our Traffic Management System incorporates a mapping platform, which gives visual representation of delivery/collection locations
- Transport Experience: would be helpful in this role, although full training will be given to the successful candidate
Hours: Monday-Friday. 9:00am – 6:00pm
Salary: £25,400 – £26,000 per Annum
