A leading accountancy practice based in Cheshire is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team. The company offers career development and growth within a dynamic team. You would play a key role in managing a diverse client portfolio, preparing financial accounts, and handling various taxation aspects. Job Description for the Senior Accountant:

  • Manage a portfolio of clients including individuals, SMEs, and larger organizations
  • Serve as the key point of contact for client queries
  • Prepare and review financial statements, tax returns, VAT returns, and personal tax returns
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and deadlines for filings and tax submissions
  • Stay updated on changes in tax legislation to inform clients accordingly
  • Lead the preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts
  • Advise clients on budgeting, cash flow forecasting, profitability analysis, and financial planning
  • Mentor and support junior team members, reviewing their work for accuracy and compliance
  • Collaborate with colleagues to improve internal processes and enhance service quality
  • Utilize accounting software effectively

Requirements for the Senior Accountant:

  • ACA or ACCA qualification (or equivalent)
  • At least 4 years of accountancy practice experience
  • Experience managing a varied client portfolio
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and tax regulations
  • Proficiency in preparing and reviewing financial statements, management accounts, and tax returns
  • Experience supervising and mentoring junior accountants
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero and QuickBooks
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly with Excel
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
