Our client is seeking an experienced Commercial Air Con Service/Breakdown Engineer to service and maintain air conditioning appliances within both commercial and domestic properties. This role will cover the East and West Midlands area.
Main Duties for the Commercial Air Con Service/Breakdown Engineer:
- Respond to service calls and reactive breakdowns, carrying out fault-finding, diagnosis, and repairs promptly and cost-effectively.
- Apply knowledge and air-conditioning diagnostic experience to achieve high first-time fix rates and deliver excellent customer service.
- Complete daily responsive maintenance, servicing, and repair tasks as directed.
- Perform servicing and safety inspections on all air-conditioning systems.
- Make immediate decisions regarding repair requirements and inform the director.
- Inform the customer when it is not possible to complete a repair within the first visit and make mutually agreed arrangements to return to complete the work.
- Ensure all work and repairs are carried out safely and are compliant with current regulations, codes, and best practices.
- Ensure a best-value and cost-effective approach when sourcing and purchasing materials.
- Carry out site audits, vehicle audits, post-work inspections, quotations, and engineers’ meetings.
For the Commercial Air Con Service/Breakdown Engineer role, it would be good to see candidates with:
- Recognised air conditioning apprenticeship and commercial experience.
- Air conditioning experience within the commercial sector, e.g., fault finding, service, repair, and maintenance on air conditioning installations and appliances.
- Working knowledge of test equipment, including an electrical multimeter.
- Able to travel mainly around the East and West Midlands area, with some further travel as required.
- Ability to work additional hours over and above contracted hours if required, where overtime would be payable.
- Be part of the emergency call-out team on a rota basis.
- Self-motivated and able to work under own initiative as well as within a team.
- Willing to undertake further training/development within the post as required.
- Able to communicate effectively with tenants and other members of the public.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Basic IT Skills.
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Salary: £30,000 - £45,000 + Vehicle
