Overview

Forest Lodge Care Home is looking for a Weekend Cook to join their team, cooking for our residents on Saturdays and Sundays, 9-5.

The Weekend Cook is an important part of our team, providing nutritious hearty foods for our service users.

About us

Bramley Health is a specialist health and social care provider. We support men and women of working age who pose variations of mental health challenges within our homes, to maximise their independence to live a meaningful and fulfilling life.

Forest Lodge is a specialist complex care home with nursing that supports up to 43 male service users and includes 24 hours nursing split across 4 units.

About the role

Nutrition is an important part of providing the perfect care to our service users, and the Weekend Cook does just this! You will have all dietary requirements/ cultural requirements, and a genuine interest in the wellbeing of our service users, to serve up meals following these guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing nutritious meals for service users in line with guidelines/requirements
  • Daily cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen and equipment
  • Maintain inventory of kitchen equipment and produce
  • Utilise knowledge of HACCP and current food regulations
  • Interaction with service users to reflect their food choices

Qualifications

  • Food hygiene level 2 certification
  • Previous experience of food preparation in a commercial/ domestic/ hospital or care setting
  • Warm, approachable personality to engage with service users and vulnerable adults with ease
  • Confident managing kitchen alone including cleanliness
