Glenhurst Lodge care home is looking for a Weekend Cook to join their team, cooking for our residents on Saturdays and Sundays 9-3 (enhanced rate of x1.25 for Sundays).

The Weekend Cook is an important part of our team, providing nutritious hearty foods for our service users.

Glenhurst Lodge is a 22 bedded care home for just male service users situated in Maidstone, with beautiful grounds and spacious communal areas for our service users to enjoy.

About the role

Nutrition is an important part of providing the perfect care to our service users, and the Weekend Cook does just this! You will have all dietary requirements/ cultural requirements, and a genuine interest in the wellbeing of our service users, to serve up meals following these guidelines.

Responsibilities

Preparing nutritious meals for service users in line with guidelines/ requirements
Daily cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen and equipment
Maintain inventory of kitchen equipment and produce
Utilise knowledge of HACCP and current food regulations
Interaction with service users to reflect their food choices
Food hygiene level 2 certification
Previous experience of food preparation in a commercial/ domestic/ hospital or care setting
Warm, approachable personality to engage with service users and vulnerable adults with ease
