The Willows care home is looking for a Weekend Cook to join their team, cooking for our residents on Saturdays and Sundays 9-3 once we open (enhanced rate of x1.25 for Sundays). The Weekend Cook is an important part of our team, providing nutritious hearty foods for our service users.

About us

Bramley Health is a specialist health and social care provider. We support men and women of working age who pose variations of mental health challenges within our homes, to maximise their independence to live a meaningful and fulfilling life. The home will focus on supporting 23 males, and our goal is to create a safe, enriching environment where every resident feels valued and supported.

About the role

Nutrition is an important part of providing the perfect care to our service users, and the Weekend Cook does just this! You will have all dietary requirements/cultural requirements, and a genuine interest in the wellbeing of our service users, to serve up meals following these guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing nutritious meals for service users in line with guidelines/requirements
  • Daily cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen and equipment
  • Maintain inventory of kitchen equipment and produce
  • Utilise knowledge of HACCP and current food regulations
  • Interaction with service users to reflect their food choices

Key skills

  • Food hygiene level 2 certification
  • Previous experience of food preparation in a commercial/domestic/hospital or care setting
  • Warm, approachable personality to engage with service users and vulnerable adults with ease
  • Confident managing kitchen alone including cleanliness
