WE HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY FOR AN EXPERIENCED REGISTERED SERVICE MANAGER TO TO LEAD OUR SPECIALIST CARE HOME, HERON VIEW IN CROYDON.
Heron View is a specialist care home that supports 35 men of a working age, that have Mental Health, Neurocognitive Disorders and Acquired Brain Injuries. The service specialises in managing aggression and challenging presentations, agitation, sexual disinhibition, vocalisations, and other behaviours that pose a risk to themselves or others.

About the role
The registered manager will have overall responsibility for the management and development of the service, and the efficient deployment of resources to ensure the safety of service users and safe.
Responsibilities
- Managing the day-to-day running of the services and coordinating its operations
- To manage and ensure the smooth running of the service
- Direct line management of the clinical lead and ensuring arrangements are secured to ensure that this post holder receives appropriate levels of clinical supervision from the identified external party
- Train, supervise, appraise, line manage and retain all support staff for the service
- To be conversant with the Mental Health Act 1983 and awareness of Mental Capacity Act 2005 and associated Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards
- To be conversant with the main provisions of the health and safety at work and the COSHH Regulations and to ensure that all staff adhere to the policies and procedures accordingly
- Regular health and safety walks to ensure the environment is suitable for all our service users
- Ensure that all residents are subject to ongoing MDT assessments to determine their individual needs, in order to accurately formulate care plans and risk assessments which are Person Centred
- Ensure CQC requirements are upheld at all times
- Monitor the day-to-day care of all service users in the service
- Effectively coordinate service users reviews
- To ensure medication is administered as prescribed and that it is reviewed at appropriate intervals by medical staff
- Facilitate and coordinate treatment plans using the care programme approach and good clinical practice within the MDT setting, ensuring effective use of resources and the updating of plans within agreed time limits
- Carry out regular medication audit at the service
- Out of hours on call (rotational basis)
About you, the successful Registered Service Manager
- Experience of managing similar registered care homes with nursing
- Strong people management skills
- Experience of managing a team, including supervision, appraisal and conflict resolution
- Have a good ability to manage and diligently account for the homes finances
- Have been a CQC registered manager for at least 2 years, with experience of managing a CQC registered service
- Have experience working with adults with mental health and learning disability needs in a similar care home/ residential or secure setting
- Competent understanding of the CQC regulations and inspection criteria
- Ability to develop teams to best support services users who will, at times, exhibit behaviours which challenge the service
- Confidence, resilience, a professional approach and the ability to balance quality and commercial considerations
