We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Manager to join our growing and dynamic team at Heathvale House! The Registered Manager is a pivotal role in the succession of our care home, ensuring the safety and compliance for our staff and service users.

Heathvale House supports up to nine males of working age. Our service users may present a range of mental health diagnosis including:

  • alcohol abuse
  • substance misuse
  • dual diagnosis
  • alcohol related dementias
  • early onset dementias

Responsibilities:

  • Provide the highest possible standards of care to our male adult residents in Heathvale House.
  • Manage the day-to-day running of the service and coordinate its operations.
  • Train, supervise, appraise, line manage and retain all support staff for the service.
  • Be conversant with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and associated Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
  • Be knowledgeable with the main provisions of the Health and Safety at Work and the COSHH Regulations.
  • Ensure that all staff adhere to the policies and procedures accordingly.
  • Undertake regular health and safety walks and complete audits to ensure the environment is suitable for all our service users.
  • Ensure CQC requirements are upheld at all times.
  • Effectively coordinate service users reviews.
  • Ensure medication is administered as prescribed and that it is reviewed at appropriate intervals by the GP and/or Community Psychiatrist.
  • Ensure that care and support is provided in line with individual service users care plans and risk assessment, making sure to update these documents within the agreed time limits, or sooner.
  • Ensuring that regular medication audits are conducted.
  • In conjunction with the Team Leaders and other staff, ensure that the required audits are completed in accordance with the company's Quality & Compliance Programme.
  • Out of hours on call (rotational basis).

Qualifications:

  • Have been a CQC Registered Manager for at least 2 years.
  • Experience in managing mental health care home settings.
  • Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care using evidence based approaches.
  • Ability to supervise, teach and mentor unqualified Staff.
  • Knowledge of risk assessment and risk management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent people management skills, including supervision, appraisal and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and delegate appropriately.
