Our newly opened care home in Dartford, The Willows Care Home, is looking for a Weekend Chef to join their dynamic team, cooking for our residents on Saturdays and Sundays 9-3 (enhanced rate of x1.25 for Sundays). The Weekend Chef is an important part of our team, providing nutritious hearty foods for our service users.
About us: Bramley Health is a specialist health and social care provider. We support men and women of working age who pose variations of mental health challenges within our homes, to maximise their independence to live a meaningful and fulfilling life. The Willows Care Home focuses on supporting 23 males, and our goal is to create a safe, enriching environment where every resident feels valued and supported.
About the role: Nutrition is an important part of providing the perfect care to our service users, and the Weekend Chef does just this! You will have all dietary requirements/cultural requirements, and a genuine interest in the wellbeing of our service users, to serve up meals following these guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing nutritious meals for service users in line with guidelines/requirements
- Daily cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen and equipment
- Maintain inventory of kitchen equipment and produce
- Utilise knowledge of HACCP and current food regulations
- Interaction with service users to reflect their food choices
Key skills:
- Food hygiene level 2 certification
- Previous experience of food preparation in a commercial/domestic/hospital or care setting
- Warm, approachable personality to engage with service users and vulnerable adults with ease
- Confident managing kitchen alone including cleanliness
