About the Role
As a Trainee Healthcare Manager, you will work closely with Senior Leaders, Registered Managers, and corporate support teams to support the operational, governance, and performance management of our healthcare services. This is a non-clinical role with a strong focus on leadership, operations, quality, and business management within a regulated healthcare environment. You will gain hands-on experience across service operations, CQC compliance, performance monitoring, financial management, and people leadership, supported by a structured development and mentoring programme.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting the day-to-day operational running of healthcare services
- Working alongside service managers to monitor occupancy, staffing, capacity, and performance
- Assisting with service planning, risk management, and operational problem-solving
- Supporting audits, inspections, quality reviews, and action planning in line with CQC standards
- Monitoring incidents, complaints, safeguarding concerns, and learning outcomes
- Analysing operational and financial performance data and producing reports for senior leaders
- Supporting budget monitoring, cost control, and efficiency initiatives
- Working with HR and Recruitment teams to support workforce planning and staff development
- Attending governance meetings and contributing to service improvement projects
Development & Progression
This role is part of a structured management development pathway and includes:
- Mentoring and leadership training
- Exposure to senior leadership and strategic decision-making
- Project work aligned to service improvement and organisational priorities
- Subject to performance, the postholder is expected to progress into a Registered Manager role.
About You
We're looking for someone who is motivated, organised, and committed to building a career in healthcare management. You will have:
- A degree (minimum 2:1 preferred) in Healthcare Management, Business Management, Health & Social Care, or a related discipline
- Strong communication, organisational, and analytical skills
- A professional, ethical, and accountable approach to work
- A clear commitment to delivering high-quality, safe care
Ideally, you'll also have:
- Experience in healthcare, social care, or another regulated environment
- Awareness of CQC standards and governance frameworks
- Evidence of leadership potential
