Heron View is a thirty‑five bedded specialist care home supporting men with mental health, neurocognitive disorders, and acquired brain injury. This is who you will be cooking for.
About The Role
Nutrition is an important part of providing the perfect care to our service users. The Cook ensures all dietary and cultural requirements are met and serves meals following these guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Prepare nutritious meals for service users in line with guidelines/requirements
- Daily cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen and equipment
- Maintain inventory of kitchen equipment and produce
- Utilise knowledge of HACCP and current food regulations
- Interact with service users to reflect their food choices
Key Skills
- Food hygiene level 2 certification
- Previous experience of food preparation in a commercial, domestic, hospital, or care setting
- Warm, approachable personality to engage with service users and vulnerable adults with ease
- Confident managing kitchen alone including cleanliness
