Millbrook House is a 29 bed residential care home, situated in Child Okeford and is part of Bramley Care, a family-run business, consisting of three luxury residential care homes and a home care agency. Millbrook House is currently looking to recruit an Activities Assistant to help provide a calendar of fun events and activities for our residents.

The Activities Assistant role is a hands-on working role with responsibility for ensuring a successful activities programme. This includes internal and external communication about activities-focused programmes for our residents. The role involves introducing appropriate activities for older people which support independence and identifying activities in the surrounding areas that will assist residents to integrate into the local community.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Organise and conduct activities that encourage both social, mental and if appropriate physical stimulation for the residents within the home.
  • Help organise culturally relevant and social events.
  • Encourage residents and team members to participate in the home’s activities programme.
  • Maintenance of activity posters, notice boards and information sheets within the home.

Person Specification:

  • Compassionate and caring nature.
  • Ability to organise activities.
  • Outgoing and fun to be around.
  • IT literacy – competent with the use of systems.
  • Experience of working with those living with dementia.
