I am supporting a growing consulting practice with the appointment of a Technology Consulting Director, focused on financial services clients (with particular strength across insurance and mid-tier institutions). This is a senior leadership role with full accountability across revenue generation, client delivery, and practice development.
The role will involve:
- Ownership of a personal revenue target (typically £500k-£1m), including building and maintaining a pipeline of 3-4x target
- Accountability for engagement delivery across scope, budget, margin (c.40–50%), and quality
- Leading complex technology consulting engagements spanning cloud transformation, cyber, resilience, IT operations, risk and governance
- Developing and shaping propositions aligned to evolving market demand (including AI, data governance, and operational resilience)
- Building and expanding senior client relationships across financial services, with a focus on multi-year account growth
- Leading sales pursuits end-to-end, from origination through to proposal and conversion
- Contributing to broader practice growth through thought leadership, alliances, and market engagement
- Operating with a hands-on approach - comfortable both leading engagements and directly contributing to delivery where required
This is a role for someone comfortable operating across commercial leadership and delivery, with a clear expectation to originate work as well as lead it.
Candidate profile:
- Established relevant background within a recognised management consultancy (ideally mid-tier)
- Currently operating at Director level, or performing at that level without formal title
- Demonstrable track record of business development and sales initiation within financial services
- Experience owning client relationships and leading large, complex technology programmes
- Degree-educated
This will suit individuals looking to take on a visible leadership role within a growing practice, with genuine scope to shape client accounts, propositions, and the direction of the business. This organisation does not offer sponsorship. For a confidential discussion, please get in touch.
