Key Responsibilities May Include:

  • Collaborate with carriers to develop and implement cost-effective transportation solutions that meet service level expectations.
  • Identify and drive transport collaboration opportunities within the CHEP network, working closely with commercial teams.
  • Build and maintain carrier relationships, negotiating rates, ensuring capacity, and upholding service commitments.
  • Stay updated on transportation industry trends by visiting key carrier and customer sites, attending industry events, and networking with industry representatives.
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement, ensuring continuous process enhancements and sustainable change.
  • Lead the implementation of best practices and ensure comprehensive training for team members to drive operational efficiency.
  • Monitor carrier performance and hold regular reviews to ensure consistent service and cost optimization.
  • Foster an inclusive, innovative team environment that encourages collaboration, accountability, and professional development.

Experience & Capability:

  • Proven experience in transport, logistics or carrier management within complex, multi-site environments.
  • Strong understanding of the UK carrier market and transport operations at scale.
  • Track record of cost optimisation, supplier management and performance improvement.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Procurement, Operations and Commercial teams.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders in a matrix environment.
