Description

Position Purpose

You’ll direct the creation of value through supply chain applications through quality, performance and value-driven governance thus aligning the supply chain platforms function across the business to promote and facilitate optimisation, stability, security, and efficiency.

We use elements of both the Blue Yonder and JDA product suite in this area, so it is essential that you have prior exposure to these platforms.

You’ll be responsible for management of Brambles supply chain technologies and teams as well as knowledge of external market innovation in the function. As part of this role, the Supply Chain Platforms Lead is accountable for the day-to-day execution of platform services including development, data governance, platform support, and strategic direction across the Brambles landscape. The role will be accountable for the evaluation and monitoring of all supply chain services required, linking the business benefits created by resilient, responsive, and stable platform usage consumed by a growing Brambles global business user base. In addition, you’ll be accountable to collaborate with the wider TS organization (primarily the Supply Chain Programme function) on portfolio demand and delivery performance metrics.

You’ll maintain, incorporate, and provide facilitation of governance methods, standards, and principles across all processes and capabilities relative to supply chain platforms. These methods, standards and principles will be developed, adopted, and embedded by the wider platform, product, and analytics teams across all business units looking to integrate supply chain data with complimentary systems and people. Governance processes and practices include as a minimum: supply chain service management, vendor selection and management, risk management, supply chain roadmap and platform management (upgrades and modernization), service catalogue, project support, and reporting.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Provide strong leadership and direction by setting clear objectives and priorities with alignment with the Supply Chain Programme function by defining supply chain platform services, strategies, and roadmaps and communicating to applicable supply chain audiences.
  2. Constructively partners with functional business leadership and other key stakeholders to shape strategy, identify opportunities, leverage industry trends, develop, deliver and implement value-added solutions that drive financial effectiveness, simplification and/or improve supply chain services.
  3. Develop delivery best practices and principles, and a culture of service excellence across Technology Services, Data & Digital, Supply Chain, and the wider organisation.
  4. Advise and provide direction of performance measurement metrics to support the operational objectives of existing and new supply chain platform services.
  5. Provide strong technical coaching while influencing global technology adoption.
  6. Drive and enable a strong partnership across all platform/product support and development teams within, and external to, Technology Services ensuring applications are consistent, scalable, and secure.
  7. Maintain and drive vendor/partner relationships at the highest levels through performance metrics and action plans.
  8. Act as the single point of contact and escalation point for incidents which run across supply chain platforms and own process improvement protocols post-major incidents ensuring process uplift where appropriate leveraging internal / external resources.
  9. Work collaboratively across platform teams and the various platform and product owners to identify the best areas for continuous improvement.
  10. Meet Brambles internal governance, policy/process requirements, (e.g., financial planning, procurement, internal audit, people, and policies).
  11. Develop an effective organisational structure in place which enables delivery of key initiatives.
  12. Recruit, develop, motivate, develop, and retain a technical proficient team through talent management, succession planning, and skill development.
  13. Develop and execute an effective risk framework for the supply chain platform.
  14. Successful delivery of initiative milestones on time, within budget, and to agreed success criteria.

Experience

  1. Extensive experience managing or influencing technical staff, transformation, and/or significant business as usual change projects.
  2. Proven success in supply chain design, strategy, and defining delivery best practices and linking Business Platforms with the objectives of the Brambles business.
  3. Strong experience with manufacture, plant, freight carrier, and logistics business processes.
  4. Experience with cradle to grave support, implementation, and delivery of supply chain applications.
  5. Experience managing SaaS applications and partners including delivery capacity.
  6. Experience migrating to new and off existing supply chain platforms a plus (e.g. JDA, Blue Yonder, etc).
  7. Experience with custom supply chain applications supporting business requirements utilizing cloud native services (e.g. AWS, Azure).
  8. Strong experience leading remote, cross-functional, matrixed teams across multiple continents within a multi-partner ecosystem that deliver successful outcomes.
  9. Proven track record of building relationships and thought leadership influencing at senior management/executive-level within large organisations and of building and managing excellent business-wide relationships at all levels of an organisation.
  10. Functional understanding of application financial management, business case development, and annual budget preparation.
  11. Advanced interpersonal communications, with strong executive focused (and multi-audience) presentational creation and design skills.
  12. Able to lead and manage the establishment of a strategic, operational, and technical decision-making function (and associated processes) required to ensure that Supply Chain platforms towers are aligned to the organisation’s priorities and risk appetite.
  13. Function as the single point of supply chain platforms contact for all integration governance elements.
  14. Be able to devise, develop and execute an effective supply chain platforms risk and controls framework for applicable and accountable Business Platforms areas in full collaboration with internal audit and their requirements.
  15. Experience planning, managing, and reporting on the execution of platform sourcing, vendor management, platform upgrades, and critical platforms SLAs and service execution and applying recommendations for corrective and preventative action, whilst identifying opportunities to reduce risk exposure.
  16. Governance of the operational estate, ensuring appropriate change controls, Supply Chain platforms service management processes, and security controls are followed.
