Key Responsibilities May Include:
- Lead the preparation of the consolidated tax returns for Brambles Ltd, across the regional jurisdiction.
- Prepare or review complex tax provision calculations, ensuring compliance with both local and international accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Lead monthly reconciliations of indirect and/or direct tax accounts, ensuring accurate reporting and timely submission.
- Prepare and review regional tax returns and provisional tax calculations, ensuring timely and accurate submissions, particularly for more complex tax matters.
- Conduct in-depth tax research, preparing detailed file notes and documentation to support and defend tax positions globally.
- Maintain and enhance Brambles' tax risk management framework, ensuring strong processes and controls across multiple regions.
- Lead ad hoc tax projects to drive improvements to tax processes and procedures, identifying opportunities for increased efficiency and compliance.
- Serve as a key liaison with finance and tax team members globally, ensuring clear communication and collaboration on tax reporting and compliance initiatives.
What You’ll Do...
- Lead Compliance: Ensure corporation tax and withholding tax obligations are met across the UK, Netherlands, and other European jurisdictions.
- Shape Reporting: Oversee tax provisioning and reporting, making sure everything is accurate, audit-ready, and aligned with statutory requirements.
- Drive Projects: Manage complex tax initiatives such as reorganisations, mergers, and disposals, delivering both compliance and efficiency.
- Support Audits: Take the lead on smaller audits and provide critical support on larger engagements.
- Collaborate & Advise: Partner with Finance, Treasury, and Legal teams, while maintaining strong relationships with external advisors and tax authorities.
- Innovate: Contribute to process improvements and system developments that enhance visibility, control, and compliance.
- Stay Ahead: Keep up to date with tax legislation and best practices, ensuring we’re always prepared for what’s next.
