We’re looking for a hands-on and motivated Service Engineer to join a growing engineering business. This is a varied and exciting role where you’ll be involved in installations, servicing, fault finding and ongoing customer support both in the UK and overseas. This opportunity would suit either an experienced Service Engineer or a strong Mechanical or Electrical Engineer who is keen to develop their skills further, particularly within PLC software and automation.
About the candidate
We’re looking for someone with a solid engineering background who enjoys problem solving and working both independently and as part of a team. You will hold a recognised qualification in Electrical, Electronic or Control Engineering, such as an HNC or equivalent, and have a strong mechanical and or electrical background with experience fault finding on machinery. You will be confident diagnosing issues and implementing effective, long-term solutions, with strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with customers. You should be comfortable managing your own workload, using your initiative and working in a fast-paced environment. A full UK driving licence and valid passport are essential, as the role involves travel across the UK. Experience working with industrial machinery is essential.
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 depending on experience plus amazing benefits
Monday to Thursday 08:00 - 17:00, Friday 08:00 - 13:00. Flexibility required when travelling to customer sites.

What you’ll do
- Install, commission and upgrade machinery at customer sites
- Carry out servicing, maintenance and breakdown support
- Fault find across mechanical, electrical and basic software systems
- Support production line integrations including software debugging where required
- Provide remote technical support via phone and email
- Deliver training to customers on machinery use and maintenance
- Complete service reports, test plans and validation documentation
- Liaise with internal teams to resolve technical issues and support continuous improvement
- Support with spare parts enquiries and ongoing customer care
