We're looking for a Recruitment & Compliance Coordinator to join one of our fantastic clients in the education sector. Working full time hours but only term time plus 4 weeks, this is an excellent opportunity to join a prestigious organisation.
As a Recruitment & Compliance Coordinator, you will manage the end-to-end recruitment administration process while ensuring full compliance with safeguarding legislation, including Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and statutory safer recruitment guidance. You will work closely with hiring managers, HR, and operational teams to ensure every member of staff meets the required compliance standards before commencing employment. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with previous recruitment and compliance experience within the education sector who has a strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and safer recruitment best practice.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate the full recruitment lifecycle from vacancy approval through to onboarding.
- Ensure all recruitment activity complies with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and safer recruitment guidance.
- Conduct and monitor pre-employment checks, including: Enhanced DBS checks; Right to Work verification; Identity checks; Employment history verification; Professional qualifications; References in line with KCSIE requirements; Prohibition and other statutory checks where applicable.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
- Ensure the organisation's Single Central Record is accurate and up to date.
- Support managers with recruitment campaigns, interview scheduling and onboarding.
- Ensure recruitment documentation and adverts reflect safeguarding expectations.
- Identify compliance risks and recommend process improvements.
- Support internal and external audits relating to recruitment and safeguarding compliance.
- Keep up to date with changes in employment legislation, KCSIE, safeguarding guidance and recruitment best practice.
- Previous experience in recruitment, HR or compliance within an education or safeguarding-focused environment.
- Excellent working knowledge of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE).
- Strong understanding of Safer Recruitment principles and statutory pre-employment checks.
- Experience maintaining compliance records, including a Single Central Record.
- Excellent organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Competent using Microsoft Office and HR or recruitment systems.
- Safer Recruitment Training Certificate.
- CIPD qualification or working towards one.
- Experience supporting Ofsted inspections or compliance audits.
- Experience within schools, colleges, training providers or apprenticeship providers.
