About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Manager to take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and delivery of a high-quality homecare service. You will provide strong leadership across the service, ensuring customers receive safe, personalised and effective care while maintaining high standards of compliance, quality and staff performance. This is a hands-on management position offering the opportunity to make a genuine difference to customers, their families and the wider care team. This is a permanent full-time role, 8:30am to 5pm Monday to Friday and a driving license is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for the effective day-to-day running of the homecare service.
- Ensure care is delivered safely, effectively and in line with relevant legislation, regulations and internal policies.
- Keep customers' individual needs, preferences, dignity and independence at the heart of the service.
- Complete and oversee appropriate care assessments, risk assessments and personalised care plans.
- Build strong relationships with customers, families, representatives and healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate, confidential and compliant customer and business records.
- Monitor service quality and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Manage complaints, incidents and investigations effectively, taking appropriate action and implementing improvements.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety, including infection prevention and control.
- Lead the recruitment, induction, training, supervision and ongoing development of the staff team.
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels and effective allocation of resources to meet service requirements.
- Provide leadership, guidance and support to staff, ensuring they understand their responsibilities and have the tools to deliver safe care.
- Oversee emergency and out-of-hours requirements, ensuring appropriate cover is arranged when necessary.
- Monitor key performance areas and contribute to the ongoing growth and development of the service.
- Represent the organisation professionally at external meetings and with relevant stakeholders.
- Keep up to date with changes in legislation, regulation and best practice within the social care sector.
Required Skills and Experience
- Previous experience working as a Registered Manager within a social care setting.
- Experience of financial or budget management.
- Understanding of CQC regulations, compliance, safeguarding, risk management, health and safety and confidentiality.
- Working towards or holder of a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult care.
- Satisfactory DBS/criminal records check and appropriate safeguarding clearance.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use, where required.
