We’re looking for a proactive and approachable HR Advisor to join a busy HR team within the education sector, providing practical advice and support to managers and employees across the full employee lifecycle. You’ll handle a varied workload including employee relations, absence, recruitment, onboarding and HR administration, while ensuring processes are accurate, compliant and delivered to a high standard.
About the candidate
You’ll have at least 18 months’ HR experience and will be confident providing advice and guidance to managers in line with UK employment law. You’ll be organised, professional and comfortable handling confidential information and managing competing priorities. Experience supporting employee relations cases and working with HR systems is important, and a CIPD qualification and previous experience within education would be advantageous.
What you’ll do
- Provide day-to-day HR advice and guidance to managers
- Support with employee relations such as disciplinaries and grievances
- Manage the absence process as well as wellbeing and probation cases
- Assist with recruitment, pre-employment checks and onboarding
- Prepare HR documentation and support formal meetings
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems
- Process starters, leavers and contractual changes
- Coordinate information for monthly payroll
- Support HR projects and continuous improvement
