Sysco Europe, whose European operating companies include Sysco GB, Sysco Ireland, Sysco France & Menigo in Sweden, is recruiting for a Junior Project Manager to join the European Outbound Technology functional area within the European Supply Chain & Merchandising Technology Team on a fixed term (12 months) full‑time basis reporting into the Functional Lead. This role is required to project manage technology initiatives that support our European Outbound Technology functional area and ensure that they meet the outcomes defined by the business, aligned to our strategic goals.
The role will be required to lead projects that span across Europe with both internal and external resources in a matrix organisation, so travel to our European sites will be required. The role sits at the heart of the project delivery lifecycle and is responsible for implementing solutions and successfully transitioning into BAU service operations. It is accountable for the project being delivered on time, within scope and budget, and will use the defined PMO project delivery methodology. The role is offering flexible hybrid working (1‑2 days per week) from your local site for team collaboration and meetings, so you must be within a commutable distance. Ability to speak French would be an advantage, though it is not a requirement for the role.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Lead, plan and manage the delivery of requirements ensuring scope is maintained and delivered to the objectives outlined by the sponsor.
- Ensure project delivery meets governance standards, including adherence to project delivery methodology, RAID logs, etc.
- Maintain up‑to‑date personal knowledge and exposure to business change opportunities, keeping them appropriate and relevant.
- Progress prioritised project ideas and translate them into a clear technology scope/design for approval, supporting business case development.
- Define and manage an effective communication plan.
- Protect the boundaries of the baseline plan and effectively manage change control.
- Create and control the budget.
- Manage resources to ensure adequate capacity/ability in the team and project timelines.
- Successfully implement the change into BAU business operations and service management team, ensuring it meets project success criteria.
- Manage and escalate risks, issues, dependencies.
- Stakeholder management up to executive level.
About you
As a Junior Project Manager you will have end‑to‑end IT Project Management experience in the delivery of complex technical projects in a fast‑paced, time‑critical environment. You will have change management experience and experience deploying technologies across multiple sites using Agile and Waterfall methodologies. A detailed understanding of business processes, stakeholder management and management of multiple 3rd‑party system integrators is essential. Strong presentation and communication skills are required, as well as a good understanding of the Microsoft Office suite. You will also negotiate and build consensus whilst influencing team members and have knowledge of functional areas of production, warehouse, merchandising and finance.
