Technology Strategy Director – Enterprise

Sysco is recruiting for a Technology Strategy Director – Enterprise to join the Europe Technology team on a full-time, permanent basis.
You will report directly to the VP of Technology, CIO Europe, and will be responsible for defining the Europe Technology strategy for Finance, HR, and Legal. Your role involves optimizing project investments, improving communication and collaboration across markets, creating and maintaining International Europe Roadmaps, and maximizing resource utilization to deliver value and returns from projects and programs within the portfolio.
This role has indirect budget responsibility for initiatives at the Europe level across markets, supporting vendor partnerships and aligning roadmaps to meet cost targets.
The position is hybrid, requiring travel as necessary, and a good standard of English is essential.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
- Define the technology strategy for Enterprise Systems (Finance, HR & Legal) across Sysco Europe.
- Validate in-country roadmaps, ensure alignment with Sysco technology standards, and promote simplification.
- Share resources, knowledge, and best practices across the wider team.
- Engage with in-country and US teams on project requirements and timelines to ensure deliverables are met.
- Support cross-country project conflict resolution when needed.
- Ensure adherence to governance functions related to the portfolio, following organizational policies and practices.
- Develop and maintain communication and reporting on portfolios, initiatives, and performance for stakeholders, governance councils, and senior executives.
- Assess and validate the technology roadmap and project portfolio, executing changes as needed to meet business needs through reviews with the Technology Leadership Team and other bodies.
- Provide criteria for prioritization and sequencing aligned with the goals of the Technology Leadership Team, PMO, and steering committees.
- Identify and resolve dependencies across initiatives and portfolios.
- Conduct regular updates with senior leadership and business partners on performance issues and improvement recommendations.
- Ensure the right skills and competencies are available within project and program teams.
- Lead and develop a team of strategic professionals to optimize technology for business outcomes.
- Provide thought leadership to business partners and functional leaders on critical topics.
- Demonstrate strong leadership and influence skills to gain credibility and challenge the status quo.
About you:
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in IT or related industries, with a strong background in IT governance and portfolio management, including creating technology roadmaps. A strategic mindset, analytical skills, and experience leading complex strategic projects are essential. You should be proactive, capable of managing stakeholders effectively, and have significant people management experience. Experience in finance, commercial, operational management, and industries such as wholesale food distribution, retail, or consumer packaged goods is advantageous.
