About the Role:
As an Accounts Assistant / Bookkeeper, your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and submitting year-end accounts for a range of clients
- Completing corporation tax returns for limited companies and LLPs
- Preparing Self-Assessment tax returns
- Handling VAT returns and CIS returns (calculating and submitting to HMRC)
- Managing client payroll and pension administration
- Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients
- Carrying out bookkeeping duties for various clients
- Assisting with service charge accounts and charity accounts (desirable but not essential)
- Answering client queries via phone, email, and in person
- General office administration as required
About You:
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced – Minimum 3 years’ experience in a UK accountancy practice
- Qualified – AAT or similar accountancy qualification required
- Tech-savvy – Experience with various electronic accounting software
- Proactive & Organised – Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- A Team Player – Works well in a collaborative environment
- A Strong Communicator – Confident in dealing with clients professionally
