Overview: The Social Media and Content Specialist, Germany is responsible for developing locally vibrant social media content that distinctly represents the German market. This role is part of the global organic social media team and ensures content and creative represents Etsy’s global social media strategy, brand voice, and company values. This person identifies key opportunities and social tactics to grow and scale Etsy’s social presence in the German market to increase awareness of Etsy and deepen buyer and seller connection with the Etsy brand. This role is based in the United Kingdom and should be commuting distance to the London office.
What’s the day-to-day like?
- Develop content and creative across Etsy DE’s Meta (Instagram and Facebook) accounts including content creation, UGC sourcing, video creation and editing, and copywriting, ensuring content represents Etsy’s social brand voice tone and visual identity.
- Provide creative support and resourcing across social handles in our European market (UK, France).
- Adapt global campaigns and content to our international markets, ensuring execution is aligned with Etsy’s brand strategy, voice and tone.
- Collaborate with the social video production team on video concepts and creative, execution, and provide feedback editing needs aligned with the evolving social landscape and trends.
- Draw insights, analyze, and report on social media metrics on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis, synthesizing key wins and opportunities.
- Run paid media campaigns for Meta channels.
- Work closely with sellers and creators to give guidance on imagery and video to ensure social media partnerships are developed to be in keeping with our social standards and campaign goals.
- Stay on top of the ever-evolving digital marketing landscape, from user & platform trends, to industry news to emerging features and technology.
Qualities that will help you thrive:
- 2+ years of shown success in bringing in substantial organic engagement across multiple social platforms, running social channels for brands, as well as content creation and execution.
- Deep knowledge of Germany and European markets; fluent in German and English.
- Video editing capabilities including concepting, filming, and editing.
- An in-depth familiarity with Meta platforms (Instagram and Facebook) and their evolving usage and features.
- Accustomed to writing brand copy in a marketing and social media environment, with the ability to appropriately include social media vernacular.
- A strong aesthetic sense and an eye for art direction and photography, familiarity with Adobe creative programs and Canva a plus.
- Ability to analyze performance and pivot plans as needed, optimizing content to succeed in a dynamic social media landscape.
- Natural collaborator, capable of instinctively building mutually beneficial relationships with colleagues.
