Role Description:

Job Description

Role Description:

We’re looking for a creative and technically skilled Animation Designer to join our Europe-based studio creating animated shows for children—with storytelling that appeals to adults as well. This part-time (20 hours/week), fully remote role is focused on refining and finishing animation sequences already developed by our team. You’ll play a key role in polishing visuals, enhancing motion, and ensuring the final output feels professional and platform-ready. We value creativity, efficiency, and the smart use of AI-powered tools—as long as they support and don’t replace authentic artistry.

This opportunity may evolve into a long-term collaboration. If the project is successful, we plan to present the work to major production studios (negotiations already underway), which could provide the contractor with valuable visibility and future opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Take rough animation scenes and add polish, timing, and professional-level finish.
  • Collaborate closely with a team that handles early-stage and foundational animation tasks.
  • Guide the team on animation workflows, tools, and best practices.
  • Use AI-assisted tools where appropriate to improve efficiency—but ensure the final product retains a human, emotionally resonant feel suitable for public and platform expectations.
  • Balance artistic quality with time constraints, delivering assets that meet both creative and technical standards.
  • Help maintain a dual-audience tone—entertaining for children, thoughtful for adults.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in animation design, ideally for character-driven or educational content.
  • Strong ability to finalize and polish animations with attention to detail.
  • Deep familiarity with animation software of your choice (we’re flexible) and willingness to advise on tooling/workflow improvements.
  • Awareness of AI-assisted tools (e.g. for cleanup, inbetweening, or rotoscoping), and ability to use them responsibly without compromising quality.
  • Strong understanding of animation timing, storytelling, and visual rhythm.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate asynchronously with a Europe-based remote team.
  • Interest in potentially participating in a long-term project that could be pitched to major production studios.
