About the company Braintree Precision Components is a specialist precision components manufacturer based in Braintree, Essex. The site produces bespoke components across a range of complex production processes, with Fanuc and Siemens-controlled machinery at the heart of operations. It's a busy, skilled environment where maintenance quality directly affects output. The role You'll join a maintenance team of three as the electrically biased engineer, reporting to the Maintenance Manager. Your focus will be keeping production running through a combination of planned preventative maintenance and rapid fault resolution. You'll: Diagnose and repair electrical faults on control panels, PLCs, and inverter drives Carry out planned preventative maintenance across production and site equipment Support mechanical maintenance activities including bearings, belts, gearboxes, and pneumatics Fault find on automation systems including Siemens and Fanuc PLCs Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise production downtime Complete electrical installation, modification, and improvement projects Maintain accurate maintenance records and contribute to root cause analysis What you'll bring Essential: Proven experience as an electrically qualified maintenance engineer in an industrial or manufacturing environment HNC in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent: NVQ Level 3 with distinction and substantial industrial experience considered) Solid working knowledge of 3-phase systems, motors, drives, sensors, and control systems Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and schematics Working knowledge of health and safety standards including safe isolation and risk assessments Useful, not essential: PLC fault-finding experience (Siemens or Fanuc) Mechanical maintenance experience alongside electrical skills Experience with inverter drives and variable speed drives 18thEdition Wiring regs Qualification a distinct advantage What's in it for you £45,000–£51,000 inclusive of shift allowance, based on a 39-hour week at £19.19/hour base rate. 25 days holiday per annum, plus bank holidays Company contribution pension Healthcare cashback scheme Free on-site parking Career progression opportunities Flexibility: Rotating morning and late shifts, Monday to Friday.
