Landscape Services Manager - The Role: This is an exciting time to work for Braintree and our Landscape Services team play a critical role, with responsibility for managing the Council's own tree stock and shaping new places by working alongside the Planning team and providing specialist arboricultural, ecology, and landscape advice.
Landscape Services Manager - Key Responsibilities: Our vision at Braintree is ambitious and to help us meet our challenges we are looking for a Landscape Services Manager to lead our team. You will have responsibility for the day-to-day management of the team, which is responsible for providing specialist arboriculture, ecology and landscape advice and a professional arboricultural service to the Council in a timely manner, and manage a proportionate caseload of applications and/or consultations (taking into account management responsibilities). You will ensure that the Council appropriately manages trees on Council land, to ensure that health and safety risks are appropriately managed, and you will ensure the Council fulfils its obligations in relation to Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG). In addition, you will lead on the preparation and ongoing review of the Council's Tree Strategy and other Advice and Guidance for the Landscape Services Team and manage and monitor Officer and Team performance and Customer Service standards against policies and targets.
Landscape Services Manager - You: The successful candidate will have a strong professional background and relevant degree qualification in either Arboriculture, Ecology or Landscape Architecture. Membership of a relevant professional body, such as The Arboricultural Association and the Institute of Chartered Foresters (ICF), The Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM), or the Landscape Institute (LI), with a commitment to CPD is essential for the role. We are looking for someone who is proactive with excellent organisational and communication skills and committed to delivering a high-quality service to customers. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and ambitious Planning service. As the Landscape Services Manager, you will have the skills to lead, coach, and mentor a team of professional officers across a range of specialisms.
