Project Manager - The Role: You will lead a portfolio of complex projects within our Programme Management and Delivery Team, supporting the planning, delivery and governance of the Fit for the Future programme and other strategic initiatives. Working closely with senior managers, programme leads and stakeholders, you will ensure delivery aligns with organisational priorities. You will be central to the Council's transformation objectives, applying appropriate project management methodologies, establishing effective governance arrangements and providing clear reporting and professional advice. You will lead project-level change and transition activity, including implementation planning and impact assessment, engaging with internal and external stakeholders while managing risks and escalating significant concerns. Project Manager - Key Responsibilities: - Plan, control and deliver projects that improve operations, strengthen governance and support organisational change - Establish effective governance arrangements and provide accurate, clear reporting to stakeholders - Lead and coordinate change and transition activities, including implementation planning and readiness assessments - Manage risks, resolve issues and escalate significant concerns using professional judgement - Engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders throughout project delivery Project Manager - You: - Proven project management experience with understanding of change management principles and experience managing programmes, risks and budgets - Degree qualification in a relevant field or equivalent experience, plus professional qualification such as APM or PRINCE2 - Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong presentation and organisational abilities, plus proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office - Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced and changing environment; resilient, collaborative and proactive approach Benefits: - Flexible and hybrid working arrangements (minimum 2-3 office days per week plus in-person meetings as required) - Local government pension scheme - Learning and development opportunities for all employees - Employee discounts at local businesses - Employee recognition schemes - Extensive health and wellbeing programmes, including discounted gym membership What’s next?
