Brainology is an established education provider supporting over 140 students each week across Birmingham. As we continue to grow, we are looking for an organised, proactive and people-focused HR & Talent Manager to lead our recruitment and HR function.
This is a standalone role with responsibility for attracting high-quality talent, supporting staff throughout their employment lifecycle, and ensuring our HR processes remain compliant, efficient and professional. The successful candidate will work directly with the Directors and play a key role in building and maintaining a high-performing team across our centres.
The Role
We are looking for someone who enjoys finding great people, improving processes and ensuring staff have a positive experience from recruitment through to offboarding. You will take ownership of recruitment, onboarding, compliance, staff records and general HR administration, helping us continuously strengthen our team and culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Create and manage job advertisements across multiple platforms.
- Source and identify high-quality candidates.
- Screen applications and shortlist suitable candidates.
- Arrange interviews and coordinate hiring activities.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of future talent.
- Proactively identify staffing gaps and recruitment opportunities.
- HR Administration
- Maintain accurate employee and contractor records.
- Manage onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Prepare contracts, offer letters and HR documentation.
- Ensure staff records are complete and up to date.
- Track probation reviews and key employment milestones.
- Compliance & Safeguarding
- Monitor DBS requirements and safeguarding documentation.
- Ensure all mandatory compliance checks are completed.
- Maintain HR records in line with GDPR requirements.
- Support compliance with internal policies and procedures.
- Monitor training and certification requirements.
- Staff Support & Performance
- Act as a first point of contact for HR-related queries.
- Support managers with staffing matters.
- Track attendance, performance reviews and staff development.
- Identify opportunities to improve employee engagement and retention.
- Help implement initiatives to strengthen team culture.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in HR, recruitment or talent acquisition.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience managing recruitment processes end-to-end.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Comfortable using HR systems, CRM platforms and online recruitment tools.
Desirable Experience
- Education sector recruitment.
- School administration or HR.
- Safer recruitment practices.
- Safeguarding compliance processes.
- Experience supporting both employees and contractors.
- CIPD qualification (desirable but not essential).
