Brainkind is seeking an experienced and passionate Principal Clinical Neuropsychologist to join our specialist neurorehabilitation service in Llanelli, South Wales.
This is a senior clinical opportunity to play a pivotal role within a highly regarded multidisciplinary team, supporting adults with acquired brain injuries and complex neurological conditions to rebuild their lives, maximise independence, and achieve meaningful personal outcomes.

The Opportunity
This is a highly influential clinical position combining direct therapeutic work, neuropsychological assessment, consultation, supervision, training, and service development.
You will:
- Provide specialist clinical psychology and neuropsychology input within Brainkind's neurobehavioural model
- Support adults with acquired brain injuries through assessment, formulation and intervention
- Work closely with service users, families, carers and external professionals
- Contribute to service development, audit, research and quality improvement initiatives
- Provide supervision, consultation and specialist guidance to colleagues across the service
- Help shape best practice within a leading neurorehabilitation environment
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Assessment & Intervention
- Deliver specialist psychological and neuropsychological assessments using psychometric testing, structured observations, interviews and self-report measures
- Formulate complex presentations and develop evidence-based intervention plans
- Coordinate care as appropriate alongside the multidisciplinary team
- Deliver individual, family and group interventions tailored to service user needs
- Support cognitive rehabilitation, emotional adjustment and behavioural management
- Undertake psychologically informed risk assessment and management
- Develop meaningful rehabilitation goals with service users and translate them into measurable outcomes
Leadership, Consultation & Supervision
- Provide specialist psychological advice and consultation across the service
- Support families and carers through guidance and psychoeducation
- Supervise assistant psychologists, trainees and relevant clinical staff
- Exercise autonomous clinical judgement while working within professional standards and supervision structures
- Contribute to the implementation of psychological approaches across the wider team
Service Development, Research & Quality
- Contribute to audits, quality improvement projects and service development initiatives
- Coordinate agreed outcome measures and clinical data collection
- Remain informed of current research and evidence-based practice
- Initiate and participate in neuropsychology and rehabilitation research projects where appropriate
- Contribute specialist expertise to ongoing development of Brainkind's services
Professional Practice
- Maintain high standards of clinical record keeping
- Communicate effectively through written, verbal and virtual methods
- Ensure compliance with professional, organisational and national standards
- Demonstrate responsibility for resources and equipment provided by Brainkind
- Maintain professional knowledge of developments within Clinical Psychology, Neuropsychology and Neurorehabilitation
About You
Essential Qualifications:
- Degree in Psychology accepted by the British Psychological Society (BPS) for Graduate Basis for Registration (GBR) or equivalent
- Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (BPS accredited) or equivalent qualification eligible for HCPC registration
- Current HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist
Experience & Knowledge:
- Experience producing high-quality clinical reports
- Knowledge of legislation relevant to the client group
- Ability to analyse and manage complex clinical information from multiple sources
- Strong communication skills across a variety of audiences
- Experience working within multidisciplinary teams

Desirable:
- Interest in Neuropsychology and Neurorehabilitation
- Previous experience within a neuropsychology setting
- Experience conducting research within neuropsychology or acquired brain injury services
