Hospital Manager – 12-month Maternity Cover

Location: York

Salary: Up to Β£61,800 per annum (DOE)

Hours: 35 hours per week

Our assessment centres, rehabilitation units and hospitals use expert neurorehabilitation to support people to regain the skills they have lost. We treat people with a range of brain injuries – sustained through trauma, illness, substance abuse and more – to recover and meet their personal goals. Located in York, the centre can accommodate up to 40 people over two floors and has stunning views of the Knavesmire area. Brainkind Neurological Centre York is an innovative, purpose-built independent hospital providing specialist neurobehavioral assessment and post-acute rehabilitation for people with a non-progressive acquired brain injury.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: But not limited to

  • Demonstrate professional leadership and provide β€˜hands on’ management support and guidance, managing staff activities and influencing their practices and attitudes.
  • Assume line management responsibilities for the senior management team and lead clinicians where appropriate, to provide operational support and direction. Ensuring that performance standards are identified and met.
  • Take responsibility for setting and monitoring of budgets, capital, and revenue, within location.
  • Take overall responsibility for recruitment, employment and working practises, complying with Employment Law and contractual obligations. To include the provision of Induction, training, and support as required in respect of the statutory responsibilities of the service and Brainkind, with particular emphasis on our aims, values, and high-performance standards.
  • To be an active member of the Service Management group and on occasion to take on additional defined responsibilities in relation to events such as investigations, disciplinary/grievance hearings, and the provision of management support to other services.
  • Promote the ethos of exceptional customer responsiveness throughout the service to all stakeholders including service users, families, purchasers, referrers, and other professional partners. This may require additional and or unsocial hours and or overnight stays.
  • Produce and implement an annual business development plan to support the management and development of existing and new service provision.
  • Participate in conferences and marketing opportunities as an Ambassador of Brainkind

ABOUT YOU:

  • Current Live RMN PIN and no restrictions in place.
  • Must have experience of managing a Clinical/on-site MDT.
  • QCF (NVQ) level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care or an equivalent qualification in Social Care/Health which meet Regulatory Requirements or a commitment to work towards
  • In depth knowledge of statutory requirements Legislation and outcomes
  • Experience and understanding of what constitutes a high-quality specific Hospital service.
  • Experience of using quality measures e.g. internal/external audits and experience of making improvements associated with such measures
  • Working with a Multi-Disciplinary Team to achieve positive outcomes for the people we support
  • The ability to manage and guide staff including clinicians via formal supervisions and appraisals to maintain and improve quality and morale.
  • Ability to be flexible and to work unsociable hours when required.
